Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár [HUN], Klausenburg [GER]) is the biggest orienteering centre in Transylvania, and one of the biggest in the country. The history of orienteering in Cluj goes back to the 50-ties, since then generations of map-makers, course-setters and competitors enriched the O-community with their work and experiences.

Cluj is not only a centre for orienteering, but also a cultural and industrial centre, being one of the most significant university cities in Romania. You find more information and can get a "taste" of the region and the country on the pages Pictures Photo gallery and Tourist Info.

Electric Castle is a music festival that takes place in July (17th-21th of July 2019), on the spectacular Transylvanian domain of the Bánffy Castle, near Cluj-Napoca in Romania. The festival is a unique festival experience that combines music, technology and alternative arts. It features many genres of music including rock, indie, hip hop, electronic and reggae, as well as art installations. The festival was shortlisted for 4 times at the European Festival Awards for the Best Medium Sized Festival Category, among other famous European names. In 2018, over 212.000 people visited the festival grounds during the event.

Untold Festival is the largest annual electronic music festival held in first weekend in August (1th-4th of August 2019) in Cluj-Napoca at Central Park, with the main stage at Cluj Arena. Untold has been designated Best Major Festival within European Festival Awards 2015. In 2018, during the four days of the festival, more than 335,000 people attended the concerts held on several stages in the centre of Cluj-Napoca.

We hope that you will enjoy your stay, and gather some nice memories from this corner of the (orienteering-)world, "the forests of vampires" !
